143 pounds and a new size 6 skirtHello blog world! I hope everyone had a nice weekend! My weekend was filled with shopping and money-spending. You see, late last week the scale finally decided to move.  My weight seems to come off in spurts…a “big” drop, then weeks of nothing. Then another big drop! Well, last week I had a two-pound drop, so I’m down to 143 now, hooray! I can’t believe I’m so close to the 130-s. I haven’t even been in the 140-s before, not really, and I’m blowing past them into the 130-s! It’s so incredibly exciting!

Every 10 pounds or so I have had to go through my closet. I pull out all the clothes that are too big on me and put them away in tupperware tubs, and pull out clothes in the next smaller size. Well, I’m out of clothes! The lowest size clothing I had in my supply was a size 10 (some size 8s).  I went through my closets and purged some more clothes and filled two full tupperware tubs, mostly with size 12s that are much too baggy.  However, I didn’t have any new clothes to pull out, so I went shopping.

I didn’t really go shopping for general work clothing (I still need to do that at some point). I have four weddings to attend this summer, along with two bachelorette parties and one bridal shower (“garden-party” themed) to attend, so I wanted to do some shopping for those events. I was so excited — I bought several pieces of clothing in a size six!  (For my earlier elation about being this size, read this post here.)  I still can’t believe it! A size 6?! I haven’t been a size six EVER — not since middle school or elementary school or something!  I bought this incredibly sexy purple dress for formal occasions, and I am so excited to wear it. I feel like a million bucks in it.

Food consumption over the weekend was unextraordinary to say the least. I did get a little exercise in, but not as much as I probably should have.

The next 8 weeks are going to be incredibly busy for me. My social calendar is totally packed! I’m very excited to get my hair done on Thursday. It desperately needs it, and I’m going to feel even better about how I look after I get it done.  I have a double-date planned on Wednesday, a concert to attend on Friday, and a “Yay you got divorced/men are jerks” party to attend on Saturday. I will have to carefully plan my exercise in there somewhere.

Next week starts the real fun! I get to meet a very good friend from Norway in a gathering in New York City, as well as attend a PHISH show! Woohoo!  The following weekend is a two-day Jazz Festival, then I have vacation planned, then starts the wedding craziness. It’s going to be a nonstop summer!

I do the same thing, Christine – the scale seems stuck and then suddenly drops two or three pounds, then sticks around that number for a while, etc. Kind of strange, huh?

Congratulations on your successes. You’re doing fantastically well!

It’s totally strange, Kiristin! Sometimes it’s hard to maintain motivation when you don’t see even a small amount of progress for many days (or weeks) but when the scale drops it’s like YES IT’S WORTH IT!!! Thanks for stopping by!

YAY! You look amazing! A size 6? That’s fantastic …… and totally inspiring. Even at my very thinnest I’ll never be a size 6 but I’m aiming for a tall, big boned equivalent of a size 12.

If you’re tall, you’ll look like a size six-ish at a size 12! I’m super short so I probably look tubbier than taller women do! But thanks for stopping by Mad Woman and the nice words of encouragement!
