Good Tuesday morning to everyone!  I hope everyone had a really nice weekend. What did everyone do over the weekend? Post below and let me know!

This weekend was a strange combination of uber-boring versus fun times!  I am one of those people that cannot sit still or relax for longer than five minutes at any given time. I need to be on the go, doing stuff, all the time!   Friday we went out with friends to a local dance club. They danced and I played designated driver to keep myself from (a) getting drunk and embarrassing myself and (b) to avoid alcohol calories. It worked!  Our friend Allie was playing in a band, and everyone danced to her music and goofed off together. It was a really good time! (Look at my neck in these photos! I look so sinewy! That’s my friend Art on the left — isn’t he adorable?! And that’s my hubby in the photo below!)

Saturday I had lunch at the Olive Garden with an old colleague of mine. Oh, I miss her so much! She’s basically my mom away-from-home. I haven’t seen her since I left that job in October, and I miss her very much.  It was wonderful to see her again! I did well food-wise: I had soup and salad.  I had the Pasta Fagioli soup, and I ate the broth and beans but ate around the pasta! LOL!   Afterwards we drove an hour north to a baby shower. It was held at a state campground. Unfortunately most of our friends had left by that point so we didn’t stay for very long. I only had a diet soda while at the baby shower. On the way home we stopped at Cold Stone Creamerie for a treat! We got the small size and shared a “Cookie Dough’nt you Want Some?”  YUM!! Divine!!! I’m glad we shared the ice cream; even the small is too rich and too much for one person to have!  When we got home my hubby wanted to order pizza. Unfortunately pizza is on my “can’t eat very well” list.  I thought, maybe I could eat a calzone because I have no problem with cheese!  Well, I had about 1/8th of the calzone and I barfed every last bit of that up. Apparently calzones are not on my lap-band safe list.

Sunday I was bored out of my mind! I did yardwork for four hours in the morning. I bought five bags of mulched and got half of the flowerbed done. I did some weeding and I planted $70 worth of plants. My peonies are blooming, so I cut some peonies and lilacs for the house. It smells so nice!  The yard looks very nice, but I was cranky all day because I wanted to be doing something, anything, other than staying at home!  Finally my hubby took me out for dinner. (I got Panera’s Black Bean Soup, and hubby got 5 Guys burger & Fries), and we went to a park to eat it. It was so nice outside! We watched Harry Potter when we got home.

Six Flags Great EscapeMonday was another fun day! We went to 6 Flags Great Escape, which is a combination roller-coaster park and water park. I really wanted to swim!! We got there early and rode on a lot of roller coasters. There were no lines at all — in fact, we could have kept riding on the ride without getting off, had we wanted to!  At 11 a.m. the waterpark opened up and we got in our bathing suits. I had a mini-epiphany moment during that time. I felt COMFORTABLE in my bathing suit, in public!!! It’s the first time in my life, I think. I was people watching and enjoying all the body shapes and sizes. The diversity of people is really beautiful!  I finally felt normal to be doing something like going to a waterpark without worrying about covering up with a towel or beach wrap whenever possible. It was quite liberating! We swam all day.  My favorite ride of the whole park was a water ride where you sit on a raft with four people, and it shoots you out of a vortex-y like thing.  It was fast and scary and super fun! I shrieked like a schoolgirl the whole time.

The only food I had was a cheeseburger and a few fries. The burger was not very tasty though, so I only ate half and threw the rest away.  Prior to getting to the theme park I had some m&ms and a red bull. SUGAR HIGH!!!  When we got home I made a small salad with tunafish, maybe 100 calories for the whole thing.  Plus a Blue Moon beer! Delicious and filling!

This morning the scale was STILL at 147 pounds. This week I am going to concentrate on cutting back significantly on my sugar intake to see if that makes a difference in the scale.

Sounds like you had a fun weekend! I’m from the Lake George area originally (been in Texas since I was 3, but spent summers up there until I was a teenager), and I used to love going to Storytown (now Great Escape!).. I loved it there… ahh, the memories! :)

My weekend was pretty relaxed.. Went to my boyfriend’s niece’s birthday party on Saturday, then on Sunday I ran errands… cooked out on Memorial Day. Nice and relaxing! :)

    Have a great week!

Hey, another upstate NY-er!!! That’s great! My hubby was showing me all the old Storytown buildings and stuff. Apparently the park has built up quite a bit since the storytown days, but the cute little nursery-rhyme buildings are still there!
