Quick Review: Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition

I watched about 2 minutes of the new tv show on Sunday called Extreme Makeove: Weight Loss Edition.

Within seconds I heard one of the most ridiculous things I could hear. They are things I’ve heard a bazillion times before. They are things that kept me FAT and kept me from reaching my weight loss goals.

The trainer was making a big pot of vegetable dumpling soup (seriously, dumpling soup? Any idea how many carbs were on those) and the person said something to the effect of, “You can really load up on vegetables and all for no calories!”

What? No calories? In vegetables?

On what planet? Not on planet Earth. Hells bells, even celery and lettuce have calories. Not a lot, but they have them, and if you learn to just ignore certain calories in your diet, you’re in for a LOAD of trouble.

There was something else the idiot trainer said, but I can’t seem to be able to watch the video repeat to jog my memory.

Either way, unless you’re just looking for some general weight-loss motivation, I recommend avoiding this show.

In other news, I was watching “So You Think You Can Dance” and there is an “overweight” dancer who has made it through all of the first rounds of the show. (I only say “overweight” because everyone else is so skinny! In reality she is probably just “average” sized, but she seems overweight compared to the others.)  Anyway, she’s a very good dancer, and I hope she makes it far in the competition.

I have caught the 1st episode of the Extreme Makeover Weightloss, overall I like the show, few things bothered me with her weighing her on a freight scale saying they don’t have a big enough scale for her, thats BS! Yeah some of the things they say on there its like wow! And now I know some of that stuff isn’t true!
    Veggies not having calories? LOL

I watch the Dance show, too! That “fat dancer” (which I hate to even call her) is awesome. She got cut right before the top 20. I really wish they could have kept her on the show. Booo.

    How can
you not love a show like this?  It’s
nothing like the Biggest Loser in my opinion because it focuses on one person
over the course of a year and it really goes in depth to their story and that’s
what makes it so personal for me.  I
relate a lot with Rachel because I know what it’s like to be that big and not
wanting to be known as the “fat girl” anymore.
She is my inspiration so every apple I’ve eaten instead of a burger and
every cup of water I drink instead of a Coke is because she’s helped me.  I recommend that everyone watch the show and
you can catch up with it here http://bit.ly/dJzWgo
and although it’s a DISH Network site, you don’t have to be a DISH customer to
view most of the content.  I actually
work at DISH and I know the site is legit and I really want people to watch the
    show because it’s helpful.
