New Years Party

Well, I’m struggling to sober up after the New Years Party.  We had a great turnout–perhaps 30 of our good friends showed up–and, oh! there was a lot of drinking going on. I’m pretty sure I embarrassed myself by going to everyone at the party and telling them all how much I love them and are glad that they are in my life.  Hubby did his annual underwear run at midnight, and I was pleased that so many women stripped down to their skivvies and partook in the annual event! Hubby and his friends have been running in their underwear at midnight for something like 25 years in a row now. It’s a cute tradition, especially since New Years Eve is hubby’s birthday!

I did not run though, even though I was thinking that maybe I would this year. I never ran in the past because I was mortified and horrified about my body. Now that I’m substantially less horrified with myself, I thought this would be the perfect chance to start participating in the annual tradition! However, there are a few female friends that were there that I think resent me for having lost weight and are jealous of me. I know, those people aren’t real friends if they can’t be excited for me changing my life in a such a positive way! However, I also didn’t want to rock any boats and piss anyone off on a night where everyone is just supposed to have fun.

Hmmm. Maybe I need to give up the attempts to be a crowd-pleaser for the new year.

I apparently left my camera at the party, so I will post pictures later when I get the camera back!

Are you guys doing any New Years Resolutions this year? I’ve always had a resolution to lose weight and to stop biting my fingernails. Now, I don’t have to worry about the weight part, and I’m pretty sure the nail biting is unstoppable after 32 years.  Hmm.

You definitely need to do the run next year and screw the haters.

An awesome year you had Christine, just awesome. No doubt many of us are disappointed we won’t see pics of you participating in that slight run, boy that sounds fun. Ever been any law enforcement officials visit your hubby & his buds as they run in the new year?

Nice of you to be a crowd pleaser & not make others uncomfortable, but I think you deserved to do whatever you desire in your new body. Don’t deny yourself a good skinny run when opportunity presents itself :-)

Thanks for the reminders on my blog today. The basics are so easy to understand and also so easy to forget if not kept in front of us.

    Happy New Year!
