Car troubles & more of the same

Today I had car troubles. My car wouldn’t start. I managed to give my own car a jump-start, let it run for 20 minutes, then turned it off. It started up just fine, so I think the problem is the battery, not the alternator. I managed to get to Napa Auto Parts and donate $99 towards a new battery, although I’m having second thoughts about whether my battery is really a problem or not.

Because of the car problems I had to cancel lunch plans with a friend. I had even researched the restaurant and had picked out a healthy, affordable option. Bummer!  Also, because of the car problems I canceled my resume critique with the Department of Labor. The appointment is in a very bad part of town, quite unsafe. The last thing I wanted was to have to ask someone for a  jump or to call AAA while standing outside on those street corners. Fortunately the woman was very understanding, and we rescheduled for another day.

Tonight we are going to Dinasaur BBQ. (Read the online menu here.) This is a famous Syracuse-based restaurant that just opened a restaurant near us. The food is delicious! I need to do some research to figure out what I am going to order. After all, a little pre-planning can keep a fun outing with friends from being a total calorie-disaster.  I’m considering the soup of the day, catfish dish, small salad with pulled pork on it, or the peel-and-eat shrimp.  Hmmmm….decisions decisions.

Weight this morning was 126.0.

I had to get my husband a new battery this morning. I am also hoping that the alternator isn’t the problem. I wanted to thank you so much for the shout out yesterday. It was greatly appreciated. You will lose that last pound soon! Your goal is also my goal, I hope to join you this next year!

You’re so close! I’m sure that the alcohol was a huge contributor to being a bit over. Just the fact that you’re down a half pound means it was probably bloat (beer is the worst!).

Same car story. It was the fuel pump here. Oy. $500 later, runs fine.. Ugh..
